Travel Hacks To Get You Through The Summer

The much-awaited summer season is halfway through and most of the world is already out celebrating on their vacations and having a blast. However, if you still haven’t had the chance to go out, don’t worry. You still have a lot of time to make the most of the remainder of summer. The summer season is the perfect time to travel. However, most of us haven’t had much experience when it comes to traveling, and that is why we tend to hold back from adventures like these. Not for long! We are here to help you get over your travel anxiety and help you have the time of your life. So, if you are new to travel and want to know the best way to get the hang of it, then here are some tips to help you with all things Summer Travel.

1. How to save money on travel

This is very simple. If you start planning ahead of time, the likelihood of getting a good travel deal for yourself is high. However, if you can’t do that, fear not – there are a lot of other options that you can try, some of which will probably help you save a lot too. If you know someone who travels a lot and is very close to you, then you can just ask them to give you their miles. You can then sell these airline miles online and get a great travel deal in exchange. How cool is that?

2. Luggage can be very unpredictable

Yes, that’s right – luggage, traveling, can be unpredictable and at times a liability too. Think about it – when you travel to a new place, having too much luggage with you will probably result in you ending choosing to not move around as much because of the wight of your luggage. So, whenever you plan on going for a travel adventure, pack lightly. Make sure you don’t have an excessive amount of luggage. Take the necessities and try to compromise on the luxuries.

3. Always have a backup plan

This is crucial – going to a foreign territory, you are not aware of all the factors that entail living in the foreign territory. So it is always good to have a backup plan for everything and anything. From funds to luggage, to your important travel documents, everything should have a backup. Try to take pictures of all the documents related to travel and keep them all in your phone. Also make sure your phone is safe at all times because pick pocketing is an age-old problem for most tourists.

The Main Reasons Why People Travel

There are two levels of answers to the question of why people travel. The first is the obvious one, and probably the reason we give ourselves and quote to others. We travel so that we can see sights, experience other cultures, attend events and learn more about the world.

These are exciting reasons. But there are deeper reasons for traveling that have less to do with what we do when we travel, and more to do with what traveling does to us. These five sets of changes to ourselves are at the heart of what makes travel so compelling.

Travel Enriches You, Before, During & After

The anticipation of a trip is almost as stimulating as the trip itself and the memories afterwards. Knowing what you have ahead, and imagining it in detail, lends excitement to life, and relieves the tendency to fall into a workaday rut. The more detailed the image of the trip, the more a future trip will excite you in advance.

During the trip itself, daily life can be intense. Living in these moments fully, and noting everything around you, makes for heightened living. Clearly, this kind of intensified experience is a quality of a style of travel that takes you beyond the bus and out into the streets and squares, landscapes and waterways, of the places you are visiting. Independent travel is a world apart from “contained” travel.

Travel Broadens Your View of the World

Through travel you gain a framework for the history and significant touchstones that brought you to your current life and point in time. Now you are standing in the evil Borgia pope’s office, surrounded by the very walls that contained the man with sufficient power to write a Papal Bull-a mandate-that claimed all the wealth of the Western Hemisphere for Spain and Portugal, and secured it for the next 200 years. As you pause in the spot where that happened, the events and significance come alive with new meaning.

Now you are looking down at the stairs that lead to a tunnel connecting the home of Leonardo da Vinci with the royal palace across street. It was through this tunnel that King Fran├žoise traveled to sit and talk with his genius friend. And now you are in Bayeux, where the French William the Conqueror built his naval vessels to cross the English Channel and claim the throne of England.

Each of these experiences broadens your view of the world and your firsthand sense of time and place.

Travel Makes You More Vibrant and Interesting

Travel gives you something to look forward to… to prepare for… to study for… and later to share. You will bring home stories. Life can get somewhat monotonous if you let it, particularly after you retire and your work life ends. Anticipation is worth at least as much as the trip itself and the memories that follow the trip.

How much better to have travel stories and observations to share then to have your conversation limited to your latest doctor visits and your frustrations with the weeds in your lawn.

Travel Re-Energizes You

Travel, and the anticipation of travel, recaptures your enthusiasm. You look ahead with excitement instead of experiencing the dulled-over feeling that comes from repetition and routine.

Travel challenges you to be at your most effective and focused level. Comfort zones may be comfortable. But it is good for you to be taken out of your comfort zones regularly. Otherwise, your social skills can begin to atrophy, and your ability to think on your feet and solve problems may decrease due to disuse.

Travel Improves Your Health and Well-Being

Travel gives you a reason to stay healthy. And it keeps you sharp longer! The challenges of travel test your acuity on a daily basis. Travel can be demanding, especially if you are not being “led around by the nose” on a group trip. You know you will need to be on your toes – to be situationally aware – to pay close attention. You will need to walk extensively, including up and down hills and stairs.

Generally by the time you return home from a trip, you will be in better shape than you have been for months, or even years. And if you begin immediately to anticipate another trip ahead, you will have a genuine incentive to keep up these improvements and be ready for the next time.

Changes and Benefits

These changes and benefits to you from travel can become permanent ones. Your life will become punctuated with enrichment, you will think more broadly. You will find yourself incorporating deliberate lifestyle changes learned during travel. You will be more vibrant and interesting as you are periodically re-energized. And you will experience enhanced health and well-being.

All things considered, this makes travel a bargain.

Choosing the Right Time to Travel Abroad

The time is now to travel to Europe. And if you can’t get there this Fall/Winter, you’ll want to secure your packages abroad as airfares are comparative to that of flying to the Caribbean, if not cheaper.

Need some ideas as to where to go? Have you got a long weekend to jet set? Ireland might be the answer, or Paris or London. We truly don’t recommend any less than 3 nights in each city, if you choose to visit London/Paris, 4 nights in each would be better if you have the dough and the time.

Most flights across the pond are red eyes, but if you can’t stand flying overnight, there’s non-stop service into London’s Heathrow, where you leave in the morning and arrive around 12 hours later (actually it’s only a little more than 6 hours to get there, but then you have to factor in the 6 hour time difference).

For those shorter stays, we suggest you stay city center, but know that pricing will be higher. Depending on which sites you want to see, dead center isn’t necessary as typically it’s easy to get around these great cities.

Another recommendation we constantly make is that if you’re visiting the destination for the first time ever, you consider purchasing a hop-on/hop-off bus tour. Don’t just get the one day pass, we recommend at least a two-day minimum. The first day use to acquaint yourself with what’s where and what interests you most. The 2nd day (it is a consecutive day pass), use the hop-on/hop-off to get where you need to go. Depending on the destination, the bus company might even include a walking tour or an illuminations tour (evening tour). You’ll be surprised at the difference seeing the city at night versus daylight.

If you’re not a “bus person”, many of these destinations offer great Metro systems. Again depending where, there could be hop-on/hop-off river boats/ferries that can transfer you.

Once you’ve decided on a destination, acquaint yourself with the excursions/tours you might be interested. Don’t be afraid of checking out those “off the beaten path” attractions too.

Still confused? Give your friendly, trusted travel advisor a call. You won’t be surprised by how excited they are to assist with your travel arrangements. After all, a great travel advisor will have the resources to create an itinerary that will not only meet, but will beat your expectations. If you don’t already know a travel consultant, we recommend you not just call someone listed in Google (or elsewhere) and proceed full steam ahead, but that you interview this person the same as you would when hiring an accountant, seeking out a reputable doctor or hiring a lawyer. Happy travels!

How to Find the Best Tours and Travels

Are you planning a trip to a totally different city or state or country? So make it more adventurous by hiring a tour operator, because visiting a new place sounds really exciting, but it could be exhausting if you have no idea about the places to visit, language, food, etc. Hiring an operator will not only make your trip stress-free, but also economical because paying a fee to an operator is less expensive rather spending on extravagantly on other stuff on the trip. A tour operator will make you enjoy the best food in the city, beautiful sights, hotels, etc. If you are interested in knowing artifacts and history behind any historical monuments, a knowledgeable operator will provide you with all such enriching facts.

WHERE TO FIND A TOUR OPERATOR

If you are looking for a local operator you can contact the travelling agency nearby your area. Or there are many online travelling agencies offering the services of an experienced operator. Other than this there are many freelancer operators available online.

QUALITIES OF A TOUR OPERATOR-

There are certain qualities that make an operator different from others. An ideal operator is smart and knowledgeable who will guide you throughout the trip without any hassle. You need not worry about directions or route because an experienced operator will make you travel in most comfortable means of transport. More than this, an operator must be charismatic and amiable, so that you won’t feel like being on an educational tour with your school principal. A tour guide must have good communication skills because if you are travelling with a group, it is obvious that there will be chaos and confusion that an operator needs to manage with maturity. It is must for an operator to possess good organizational skills in order to maintain coordination among group members and stick to the schedule of the trip. He or she must be emphatic and cordial because no one likes to go on a trip with an arrogant person that sucks the whole fun out of the tour. Managing time is one of the greatest virtues that an operator must possess because you need to be a certain place at a particular time without any delay. An operator can either make your vacations super fun or can make it a horrible experience.

POINTS TO REMEMBER-

Before selecting an operator, first, make it sure the fee is within your travelling budget. Other than this, choose an experienced and reputed operator, because it is always wise to explore with someone having knowledge about that place. Always follow the instruction of your tour guide when it comes to directions, punctuality, means of transport, etc. Everyone needs a break from their hectic schedule, so plan a solo trip or with your friends or family, hire a tour operator and explore different cities, their culture, food and natural beauty.

Cheap Vacation Deals Guide – What to Expect When Looking for Travel Bargains Online

When most people think of vacations, “cheap” usually isn’t the first word to come to mind. Thankfully, this stereotype won’t be around forever as airfare, cruise prices, and hotel rates are becoming more and more affordable. It’s now possible for the average person to have access to cheap vacation deals, simply by typing information into a search engine.

It doesn’t matter what kind of vacation you are looking for, or when you plan to go, there should be some deal going on somewhere. Use online budget travel sites to search for flights and hotels on the dates you intend to travel. If you are flexible, mess around with the dates a bit to see what the cheapest deals are. There will be an option for you to book airfare and hotel accommodation separately or together. You can also throw car rental into the mix and book all three at the same time.

For suggestions by the experts, there are usually themed vacation packages to look into, like “Vacations Under $500”, “Long Weekend Getaway Deals”, “Family Vacations “Last Minute Deals”, etc. Sometimes, cheap vacation deals are only available at the last minute, within a week of the travel date.

Where should you go? Are you interested in a popular US destination like Orlando, San Diego, Seattle, NYC, Chicago, or New Orleans? An exotic beach vacation in the Caribbean or Hawaii? A cruise? European cities like London, Dublin, Paris, and Madrid? How about exploring Japan? Traveling internationally has never been more affordable or easier. Just grab your passport and check out the latest deals.

Subscriptions for Cheap Vacation Deals

A lot of the online travel sites now offer memberships which include opportunities to receive points for every dollar spent on flights, hotel rooms, cruises, packages, and more. These points can be redeemed for free travel after you accumulate so many. If you plan on traveling a lot in the future, whether for business or your own leisure, becoming a “Plus” member is a smart idea.

The hotel and airline industries often partner up to encourage people to travel more by offering reduced prices. People are more likely to purchase a plane ticket if they can get a significant discount on a nice hotel and vice versa. As mentioned above, car rental companies are sometimes involved in these deals as well.

A lot of cheap vacation deals only last for a short amount of time as there are only so many hotel rooms and seats available on a plane, so if you come across amazing bargains, make your decision quickly.

When looking over cheap vacation deals, read online hotel reviews to find out what others are saying. Look at a map too so you’ll know exactly where the hotel is located. For additional savings on your trip, use an online coupon.

Air and Hotel Travel Packages Guide – What Kind of Booking Strategy Would Be Right for You?

When evaluating air and hotel travel packages offered by internet travel vendors, it’s crucial that you investigate all of the details before you book. Many of these offers are legitimate and do allow for some savings. You just need to take the time to compare offers and prices to make sure you really are getting a great deal.

If airfare and hotel accommodation are your primary concerns, you probably won’t need an “all-inclusive” package, unless it seems to offer things you know for sure you’ll really be using, such as fast Wi-Fi and dining discounts at your favorite restaurant(s). Some “bundle” deals also include car rental, in addition to air and hotel. You can combine any of the two or all three when you book your trip online.

Oftentimes it’s recommended that you wait for a last minute deal to become available before making reservations. If you’re not picky with the dates, this might be a good option for you. If you can only travel on specific dates, however, it might be a bad idea to risk it. What if a last minute deal doesn’t pop up and you are left without a reservation since you waited so long?

When you simply cannot be flexible with the travel dates, booking air and hotel travel packages well in advance is a smart thing to do. Find out how much travel expenses cost for your destination during the time of year you plan to travel. The tourist season varies depending on the location, although rates in most places are reasonably low during winter months (aside from Thanksgiving / Christmas / New Years).

Air and Hotel Packages Inclusions and Exclusions

Make sure you know exactly what the package does and does not include. Even an all inclusive package doesn’t cover things like airport baggage handling, spa services, off-site activities and tours, and gift shop items. Tipping may or may not be included, so read the policy beforehand.

Air and hotel travel packages tend to have minimum stay requirements. This could be anywhere from two nights to seven nights. Keep this in mind if your vacation dates are set in stone and there is no room for flexibility. Also note that the price you are presented with when viewing a travel package is usually intended per person. Do the math to find out if it really will be cheaper than buying 2+ plane tickets separately from the hotel room.

If you live near more than one airport, see if there is a price difference in air and hotel travel packages between all of the airports you can easily get to. Even if they are in the same state or region, some of the packages might be cheaper than the others.

The simplest and fastest way to find air and hotel travel packages is by looking over online deals. You can also sign up to receive alerts on all of the newest deals on dream vacations, from cruises to all-inclusive Caribbean resorts.

Cheap Vacation Bundles: Guide to Affordable Travel Packages and How You Can Find Them

Travel plans aren’t nearly as complicated as they used to be. There are so many helpful websites and tools online that make hotel reservation, airfare selection, and car rental simple processes. Finding cheap vacation bundles is easy and straightforward. You can browse through packages that are already put together or customize your own by selecting from a variety of flights and hotels. There is usually an option to include vehicle rental in the bundle as well.

In order to ensure that you get a good deal, only use a dependable and trustworthy online travel site. Its navigation and search function should be easy to use. You should be able to just enter the dates you plan to travel, your local airport, and destination city. When you conduct a search, there should be an option to search for airfare only, airfare + hotel, and airfare + hotel + car rental.

Of course, you can always check out packages that are already bundled together if you don’t have specific plans in mind. Last-minute deals, for instance, often include roundtrip airfare and 2 – 5 nights at a budget hotel. If it’s a cruise you are after, there are usually last-minute deals offered by the ship lines as well.

While some cheap vacation bundles include only airfare, room, and a meal or two, there are still some that feature perks like access to a spa and tickets to nearby attractions. Read carefully over a package to find out what it includes. Don’t spend money on a package that offers a lot of stuff that you likely won’t need.

Cost of Cheap Vacation Bundles

Where, exactly, can you go? Which destinations offer the cheapest vacations? It depends on factors like time of year, whether or not it’s tourist season in that area, weather, airlines, market fluctuations, and so forth. When conducting a search for “cheap travel packages” or something similar, Caribbean and Mexican destinations usually pop up the most, followed by Vegas, Florida, California, and Hawaii. Yes, it’s sometimes even possible to find budget accommodation and discount airfare to Hawaii!

If you haven’t yet decided on a specific destination, search for packages centered around a theme that interests you, such as a golf package, beach getaway, outdoor adventure, spa and relaxation trips, ski resorts, etc. You’ll be given recommendations on affordable trips that you will surely enjoy.

Wherever you want to go or whatever you want to do, start your search for cheap vacation bundles today. Keep in mind that the listed prices are usually per person.

Do you have an online coupon code? If not, it’s time to get one. It’s the best way to get deals on cheap vacation bundles. Use the site to view all of the current deals or search for airfare, hotels, car rental, cruises, and more.

Cheap Travel Deals Guidelines: Ways to Obtain Affordable Airfare, Accommodation, & More

You don’t have to blow your budget on your next trip. It’s not necessary to spend more than you really need on travel expenses. From booking airfare to shopping, there are always cheap travel deals available. Travel sites make it easy to find inexpensive accommodation in your desired area. You can easily compare various airfare offers between any two destinations as well.

Whether you want to go on a cruise, a big city trip, beach vacation, ski resort getaway, etc… , here are a few things you can do to get cheap travel deals:

• Try mixing and matching your flights. Some online booking sites provide flexible search tools that allow users to experiment with destinations, departure cities, dates, and number of stops. Sometimes it’s cheaper to book flights that include a stop or two. It’ll take you longer to get there but it is often less costly than a direct flight.

• Always consider alternatives. This includes alternative airports, neighborhoods, ground transportation options, and so forth. Even if there is an airport within a few minutes from your home, you might be able to save more money by flying out of another airport. Also, you don’t have to stay right in the middle of a popular tourist spot; consider staying at a hotel or inn in another neighborhood.

• Consider an apartment rental. Over the last few years, it has become very trendy for travelers to opt for accommodation at places that aren’t typical hotels. You might find a better deal renting a small apartment or even just a private room. Do a bit of research on the owner(s) and read reviews beforehand.

• Find out if you can use any affiliations for cheap travel deals. Students, government employees, seniors, military members, members of particular groups or organizations, etc. are often able to obtain discounts from airlines and hotels. Check with your employer to find out if members of your organization are eligible for any travel discounts. Take advantage of any travel rewards points you might have with your credit card companies as well.

• Keep an eye out for last-minute deals. Cheap travel deals aren’t always available at the last minute, so if your travel dates and itinerary are already set in stone this probably isn’t the best idea for you. If you have flexibility, however, it’s probably worth it to check out the “Last-Minute Deals” section of your favorite travel site, or to sign up to receive newsletters and alerts.

Conclusion

These are just a few things to keep in mind when you are trying to find cheap travel deals.

Many people like to start their search online. Travel websites work with many airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, hotels, B&Bs, and other travel-related companies to bring affordable deals to tourists and business travelers alike. If you’re after cheap travel deals, you can use an online coupon code to get additional savings.

Travel Insurance Doesn’t Always Mean Coverage

It’s that time of year again where the sun smiles upon us, school is out and the wide, wide world of travel is just a flight away.

So you do some research on vacation options. You book a flight. You reserve a hotel room. And last but certainly not least, you call an insurance agent for an appropriate travel policy.

“Ah,” you think to yourself. “I’m covered from all angles.”

Not so fast, sir or ma’am!

While others like yourself may view the insurance they purchased as a ticket to peace of mind, it’s not always so.

Not every loss scenario that you can envision occurring will be covered.

This articles deals with issues that may arise as a result of not planning ahead or educating yourself properly about insurance issues.

Some Instances when Travel Insurance does not Cover Losses

1. If you think you are smart by buying travel insurance when you hear the radio tell you about a future storm, think again. A travel policy will not cover the cancellation of your trip following publicized storm information.

2. If you imagine that travel insurance will provide compensation for ordinary problems, stop dreaming. Your insurance will not compensate you for common inconveniences or lack of enjoyment.

3. Do not plan on getting covered for losses you cannot prove. You will need to show a sales receipt so that your loss can be substantiated.

4. Be aware that your insurance policy will likely not provide coverage for incidents that occurred while you were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

5. Get your doctor involved before you go on your trip or you may not receive medical coverage under your travel insurance. If you cannot prove you were in good health prior to getting on the plan, you may run into coverage problems if you need medical care while on vacation.

6. Do not assume every activity you participate in is covered under your travel plan. If you get hurt while engaging in something that the insurance company considers dangerous you may not see reimbursement. Review your policy to ascertain which activities your insurance provider includes and which are viewed as perilous.

As in any form of indemnity, travel insurance has limits and deductibles, as well as exclusions. You owe it to yourself and your vacation to do the proper research ahead of the game. Speaking to an experienced independent agent will help you decide what policy is best for you and how to avoid getting denied for a related claim.
